Our Oregon Team is rapidly growing in the Hermiston, Umatilla, and Boardman area. We provide our

SRC is seeking to hire two Grade Checkers with Trimble Systems Rover layout and as-built experience. This is a safety sensitive position that is responsible for setting grade stakes to guide earth moving equipment operators in cut & fill, sloping, excavation, and backfilling work at large construction sites with multiple operations ongoing simultaneously. Being detailed orientated and experienced in the use of measuring instruments and hand tools are necessary. They must also have training in marking and reading survey stakes to determine grade specifications. Being able to read and understand civil drawings, backcheck or re-calculate slopes and grades is a plus. A qualified Grade Checker must have the ability to observe, direct and control equipment excavating activities to conform to stake references and communicate with equipment operators, supervision, and management effectively. This position is based in Umatilla Oregon and is full time year-round. Typical work schedule is 50-60 hours per week.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Construction surveying, utilizing Trimble GPS and Total Station assets.

• SCS900, GCS900, and Trimble Earthworks.

• Knowledge in computer programs such as Excel, Trimble Business Center, DWG Viewer, BIM 360

Glue.

• Knowledge of transit lasers, pipe lasers is preferred

• A professional license is not required but could be preferred.

• Possess the ability to read and understand construction drawings, project standards and

specifications, as well as industry standards and best practices.

• Adhere to strict safety policies and procedures at all times.

• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor.

• Wear all company required Personal Protective Equipment.

• Use tools in a safe manner in order to minimize the risk of injury and property damage.

• Perform daily equipment/tool inspections checks. Ensure that tools are clean, properly shut

down, and stored at the end of the shift.

• Maintain cleanliness at the jobsite.

• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

• High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade

apprenticeships a plus.

• OSHA 10/30 preferred, but not required.

• Must be 18 years of age.

• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, must meet company vehicle

insurance policy requirements.

• Positive attitude and work ethic.

• Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and clients.

Working Environment and Conditions

This position requires working indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job the

employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is regularly

exposed to wind, sun, rain, and cold weather.

Essential Job Functions

• Lift, carry and push/pull at least 50 pounds without difficulty.

• Be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations.

• Climb in and out of equipment.

• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is important.

• Ability to accurately layout and capture other trades layout is a critical component of this role.

• Standing for extended periods is common.

• Working in or around confined spaces.

• Climbing in and or out of trenches.

• Taking directions from multiple teams in the field at any given time and prioritizing your responses.

Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
