GENERAL DESCRIPTION
(1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):

The OOD Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing effective, compliant, and cost-efficient special education services for eligible students who require special education placements outside of the district The OOD coordinator monitors the provision of services to and the programs of individual students placed out-of-district by the district or privately placed by families, including ongoing communications and site visits.-Facilitate three-year re-evaluation, manifestation, and annual review IEP Team meetings for students placed in out-of-district and implements all necessary procedures to meet compliance standards as outlined by the federal and state regulations as well as policies and procedures of the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough.


QUALIFICATIONS:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

Education: Appropriate degree and licensure as a special education teacher, team chair, special education administrator under Massachusetts DESE regulations and requirements.

Experience: Depth of knowledge regarding special education laws, regulations, processes and proceduresStrong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills enabling information sharing and the development of trusting relationships with parents, staff, outside evaluators, advocates, and administrators

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

? 2-3 years experience in a team chair/ETL role

? Knowledgeable about child/adolescent development and its impacts on education ? Familiar with online special education data management software


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

? Monitor the provision of services to and the programs of individual students placed out-of-district by the district or privately placed by families, including ongoing communications and site visits.

? Facilitate three-year re-evaluation, manifestation, and annual review IEP Team meetings for students placed in out-of-district

? Communicate with community agencies as needed regarding services for students with special needs

? Leads special education team meetings

? Collaborates and communicates with OOD schools around attendance, performance, IEP process and any other student issues

? Skilled in interpreting assessments and determining educational interventions in response to a learning profile

? Demonstrates skill in meeting facilitation, case management, communication and pedagogy-Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the special education referral and team process

? Strong collaboration skills.

? Strong organization skills.

? Excellent written and communication skills.

? Assists with other responsibilities as assigned by Student Support Services Administration. ? Other responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment:
The work environment would be an in-person office or school setting and a remote work environment

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision and hearing correctable to within normal ranges.
