Animal Caretaker
Part time-3 days a week
Looking for a reliable, animal lover for a rewarding position. Prior experience handling animals in a farm, veterinary, pet shop or similar setting preferred. Weekends and holidays required as needed. Come join our team and make a difference for homeless pets. Starting salary $13 per hour.
Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in a compassionate and responsible manner
- Feed, water, and clean animal enclosures on a regular schedule
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medication or treatments as directed
- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Assist with dog training activities, including basic obedience commands
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavioral observations
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity is preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and nutrition is a plus
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and patience
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with fellow staff members
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
