Summary Description

This position provides administrative support for Road Department operations and performs related administrative, secretarial, and customer service duties.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to requests from the general public and prepares related work orders.
• Manages and troubleshoots the work order system.
• Balances and reconciles funds received as needed; assists with monitoring department budget, filing claims, and processing payroll as needed.
• Prepares documents and ensures their placement on Board of Supervisors agenda.
• Performs searches using GIS database to provide information to co-workers, utility companies, and the general public.
• Issues and approves permits or applications for services supplied through the county.
• Prepares invoices for services rendered, materials, drainage districts, tile damages, and accidents.
• Assists in the creation and organization of personnel and other confidential files as needed.
• Creates and maintains procedures for job processes.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Associate degree preferred.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
