The Midwife Center is Hiring a HR & Administrative Manager Near Pittsburgh, PA

We are seeking a dedicated HR & Administrative Manager to join our team here at TMC!

The HR Manager will support the mission of The Midwife Center by managing human resource functions to ensure a qualified & diverse staff and a positive working environment. This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, facility, and practice management. The ideal candidate will value diversity, equity & inclusion, and will have competencies in healthcare practices and standards, client-focused care, and a commitment to reproductive health.

Compensation: $52,000 - $60,000 plus benefits, holidays, and paid time off as listed on TMC's website

Job Description: To support the mission of The Midwife Center by managing human resource functions to ensure a qualified and diverse staff and a positive working environment. This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, facility, and practice management.

Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resources Management

  • Manage recruitment and onboarding efforts including orientation to TMC’s IT systems and facility
  • Conduct exit interviews and off-boarding
  • Coordinate performance reviews and performance improvement plans
  • Manage job descriptions, orientation checklists, staff roster, and job manuals
  • Point person for employee mediation
  • Provide employment verifications as requested
  • Manage employee benefits, PTO banks, and payroll

Practice Management

  • Manage facility maintenance and compliance including monthly facility checks
  • Collect and distribute mail; maintain mail/copy room
  • Manage vendor contracts and supply ordering
  • Act as point person for computer hardware and software systems
  • Coordinate the organization and building schedules and rental agreements
  • Coordinate staff meetings, team building activities, and in-services
  • Work with the management team, staff and committees on strategic goals especially related to human resource policies and DEI goals
  • Other duties as assigned to support management team

Workplace Policies & Procedures & Compliance

  • Coordinate updates to the Employee Handbook and Policies & Procedures Manual
  • Establish and maintain employee, consultant, student, and volunteer personnel files according to regulatory requirements
  • Point person for inspections and compliance with CLIA, PA Department of Health, the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers
  • Conduct employee Infection Control, HIPAA and OSHA training and quarterly fire drills
  • Manage provider licensing and credentialing

Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, health information, or human relations management
  • Minimum of three years of related experience such as supervision, recruitment and retention efforts
  • Facility, office or computer/software systems management experience is a plus
  • Ability to obtain ACT 33 & 34 clearance
Working Conditions
  • Perform sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
  • Ability to work during TMC’s office hours Monday-Friday and weeknights and weekends as needed.
