OVERVIEW
The Director of Technology handles all delegatory duties within a district. They are the backbone of the technology department and maintain a high level of professionalism while working with staff and administration.
When assistance is required, the Director of Technology can receive help from or escalate issues to their direct superior. These superiors are outlined explicitly within their job offer letter.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
Here are some of the primary duties and responsibilities of the role:
◇ Helpdesk delegation and ticket resolution
◇ Management and delegation of up to three technicians
◇ VOIP phone management and deployment
◇ PBX Management for the VOIP phones
◇ Diagnosing basic and advanced printer issues
◇ Account creation and management
◇ Teacher and student device management
◇ Classroom technology management
◇ Administrative duties
◇ Presenting material to superintendents/directly to board members
◇ Ordering technology supplies
◇ Planning and implementing projects
◇ New device deployment and management
◇ Support multiple different types of software and applications such as MS
Office, Adobe, etc.
◇ Manage the district content filtering for all devices
◇ Manage and delegate Chromebook related issues
◇ Support current policies in place across the district
◇ Manage PA system hardware and software
◇ Implement and support security cameras and their software
◇ Manage all board meetings including audio and streaming
◇ Server management and diagnostics
◇ Network Management and diagnostics
◇ Assisting HR with badges and badge readers across the district
◇ Managing Chromebook databases and policies
◇ Administer policies through the Google administrative console
◇ Install TV’s, Smart Boards, and other various forms of hardware as needed
◇ Handling student/staff bulk imports
