As a Millwright, the employee is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment. Additionally, the position will require installation, dismantling, and/or moving machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.

• Understand all company procedures, policies, and practices that is relevant to job position.
• Must comply with all safety and OSHA regulations, including lock-out/tag-out procedures within the department.
• Available to work rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Capable of dismantling machinery or equipment, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools as necessary
• Assembles and installs equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails using hand tools and power tools.
• Constructs foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
• Aligns machinery and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rulers, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.
• Assembles machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools
• May operate engine lather or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
• Required to repair and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
• May direct workers engaged in the hoisting of machinery and equipment
• Must use logical step-by-step procedures in work, including precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Must perform a variety of duties which may change often as well as operate machinery.
• Ability to respond quickly to all upset conditions within the department.
• Communicate all safety, quality, and processing issues with Supervisor.
• Employee must also perform any duty deemed necessary by management.

A Millwright who can perform these duties safely and effectively allows for the mill to run smoothly. It is imperative that each employee does his or her job to the utmost of their ability.

Education and Experience required : High school diploma or GED. Basic Math and English skills.

Experience desired : Previous work-related skill, knowledge, and/or experience. May require some vocational training or job-related course work.

Driver's license required.
