WINDSOR ATHLETIC CLUB is Hiring a Member Services Director Near Windsor, WI

Windsor Athletic Club is a brand new 72,000 sq ft full-service fitness/athletic facility opening in the Fall of '24 next to the beautiful Lake Windsor Country Club. WAC will feature a well-equipped 24-7 strength and cardio area w/ locker room/shower access, a 5-lane lap pool, 2 group exercise studios for live and virtual classes, a HIIT Lab, 3 full size basketball courts that will also include volleyball and pickleball, an indoor turf field for soccer, flag football, etc., a 3-lane indoor track, infrared saunas, whirlpool, snack/bar area, golf simulators and a childcare area.

Job Title: Member Services Director

Reports To: General Manager

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management/Administration, Hospitality/Resort Management, Communications, Public Relations or related major.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the health/fitness industry.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees, guests and the general public.
  • Direct and oversee the activities of the Membership Department.
  • Develop and implement programs, projects and activities designed to increase and retain membership in the club. Represent the club in its relationships with numerous external constituencies.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Maintains the club’s membership database/directory and oversees the club’s client management software
  • Develops and ensures that established procedures for processing prospective members’ applications are consistently followed.
  • Plans and implements strategies to meet club membership goals.
  • Processes all requests for and transfers of membership.
  • Assists prospective members in fulfilling application requirements.
  • Conducts tours for prospective members.
  • Conducts orientation program for new members.
  • Promotes club activities using table tents, newsletters, social media campaigns, direct mail flyers, website and other means.
  • Coordinates with all department managers in the planning and organization of the club’s master calendar.
  • Holds prospective member functions.
  • Processes member cancellations.
  • Oversees member recruitment and any special membership recruitment campaigns.
  • Develop and oversee a membership referral program.
  • Researches the need for ongoing sales promotions regarding demographics, market segmentation data, etc.
  • Provides sales and other applicable training for staff members.
  • Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership activities.
  • Coordinates development of the social activities and social calendar for the club.
  • Maintains a file of club history information.
  • Coordinates all club public relations efforts, member newsletters, news and media events, use of social media, and club promotional materials.
  • Conducts member surveys as needed.
  • Attends management and staff meetings.
  • Effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members.
  • Initiates the proper administration of memberships; ensures that applications are completely and properly filled out, that dues/initiation fees are collected and that new members understand the privileges and costs of becoming a member.
  • Maintains club’s member bulletin boards.
  • Serves as Manager on Duty as scheduled.
  • Works with the Food and Beverage Department as needed to coordinate special member events.
  • Surveys other clubs for information useful in setting and revising club membership policies.
  • Oversees the administration of all membership rules and regulations to ensure consistency in interpretation and application; updates club rules and regulations and keeps members informed of changes.
  • Assists General Manager with correspondence to members regarding rules infractions.
  • Manages suspension list and assists in communication with dissatisfied members.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all member information.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments made by the General Manager and/or ownership group.

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
