The Safety Manager is responsible for cultivating the company safety culture and ensuring all colleagues, customers, visitors, and public return home safely at the end of every day.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Design, maintain, and revise safety programs/procedures to create culture of safety throughout company and to remain in compliance with company and government regulations.
• Involved with the management of DOT drug screening program for current employees and maintain necessary files.
• Serve as a plant contact for regulatory agencies and will act as a contact for outside service providers.
• Assist with safety and training meetings.
• Involved with the management of the workers compensation program.
• Investigate and report on safety incidents/accidents.
• Perform job safety analysis and make recommendations for correction of problem areas.
• Partner with plant managers to handle internal plant safety issues.
• Significant travel in Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Northwestern Arkansas. Company vehicle provided.
• Work with all levels of the company.
• Reports directly to Vice President of Safety.

• Ability to motivate employees toward improved performance.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Excellent computer skills working with Microsoft Office and safety-related software systems.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through as well as exceptional organizational and record keeping skills.

Academic & Industry/Trade Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably safety-related). Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Safety-related certifications (highly preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
