Retirement Community Church seeks Church Accountant part time. Average 15-20 hours / week. Under the direction of the Senior Pastor, the Accountant provides professional and technical accounting work in the area of accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation; accounts payable and payroll; supplies various Committee chairs and Pastors with monthly activity of general/designated funds; produces financial statements, supporting reports and external reporting; interacts with various Committee Chairs to process invoices for payments and the Senior Pastor to process payroll payments and reports. Serves as Financial Secretary to the corporation and serves on the Finance Committee.

Minimum two year degree in accounting and five years of experience in accounting including at least three years as a full charge bookkeeper; OR BS in accounting with 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Three years experience processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and pledges; maintaining general ledger; generating financial statements and supporting reports, managing contribution statements; performing bank reconciliations; generating payroll, quarterly and year end reports and workman’s compensation reports, Must be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy, good analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Must be able to work with Church Management Software (Shelby / Churchteams). Must communicate effectively with Senior Pastor, Staff, Finance Committee and be able to meet deadlines.

Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
