ERI has a career opportunity for an experienced inspector to provide construction inspection services in the Civil Engineering/Environmental Infrastructure field. Successful candidates will be organized, efficient, reliable, and self-directed in order to ensure contractor compliance with project plans and specifications, as well as assist the Resident Engineer in performing project administration duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Perform construction inspection services for a variety of projects including: paving, milling and reconstruction of roads, improvements and upgrades to water/wastewater treatment plants and underground utilities (water, sanitary, and stormwater), as well as recreational facilities, parks and trails.
• Perform basic field testing of materials.
• Check and verify contractor quantities.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Communicate with Resident Engineer regarding project status.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with engineers, contractors and clients.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with affected business owners and residential property owners on behalf of the client and ERI.

LOCATION:

• Firm headquarters in Mount Laurel, NJ.
• Construction Inspection projects throughout South and Central Jersey.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• NICET certified in Highway Transportation preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and electronic reporting and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent decision-making skills.
• Able to work autonomously.
• Ability to work in the field and perform some physical activities such as walking over uneven terrain and removing manhole lids/inlet grates.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Knowledgeable in New Jersey construction techniques and practices.
