Culikid is Hiring a Program Manager Near New York, NY

About The PositionCulikid seeks a part-time Program Manager to oversee Culikid’s programs including group culinary classes, one-on-one in-home classes, and new programs as needed. This position will work 10-20 hours per week and will be compensated at a rate of $37 per hour. Most of the work will be done remotely with the exception in-person class supervision.
The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing all Culikid programs, including new and existing programs. Existing programs include:
  • One-on-One Classes: customized in-home and virtual private cooking classes; Culikid currently has 8 private clients that meet either weekly or bi-weekly
  • Popup Cooking Class Series: includes virtual monthly classes for all ages and in-person group classes for 5-13 years that take place monthly (starting in the fall) at partner locations throughout NYC
  • SNACK classes: Culikid provides 6 weekly private group classes for clients of SNACK, a separate organization that provides services for neurodivergent people
  • Foodie Friends: weekly group cooking class with separate groups for tweens and teens (supervised directly by a Program Coordinator)
  • Community Fridge Cooking Program: bi-weekly group cooking class for adults (supervised directly by a Program Coordinator)
ResponsibilitiesGeneral:
  • Onboard new participants including communicating with guardians/participants, conducting virtual intakes, and supervising trial classes
  • Recruit new participants through partnerships
  • Collaborate with grant writers to write grants to fund specific programs
  • Maintain compliance with awarded grants for programs
  • Solicit and write client success stories
  • Coordinate private group classes as needed including communicating with partner, assigning instructor, overseeing lesson plans, observing and co-facilitating classes
  • Update website with program changes
  • Develop new programs in conjunction with Executive Director as needed
  • Supervise Program Coordinator and one-on-one instructors with a variety of backgrounds including culinary, occupational therapy, and education
  • Develop evaluation tools, oversee their implementation, and analyze their results
One-On-One Classes
  • Monitor pending classes and hiring needs and participate in hiring process for new instructors as needed
  • Pair new one-on-one clients with available instructors
  • Supervise in-person one-on-one instructors during their first two client visits and as needed
  • Review recipes and lesson plans ensuring they meet each individual client’s goals, needs, preferences, and abilities
  • Review progress notes and provide feedback
Popup Cooking Classes
  • Coordinate dates of popup classes with partners
  • Recruit and train volunteers so they are equipped to work with neurodivergent children
  • Coordinate classes onsite, including volunteer orientations, checking in participants, pairing participants with volunteers, coordinating with partner staff for appropriate set up and facilitation, managing challenging behaviors that are beyond volunteers’ ability
SNACK Classes
  • Maintain relationship with SNACK staff
  • Manage SNACK class schedule and staffing for all classes
  • Observe classes on a regular basis, supervising staff and providing feedback for more effective group facilitation and strategies for engaging with specific participants
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years working with neurodivergent people
  • At least 2 year of supervision experience
  • Degree in occupational therapy, social work, or related field
  • Commitment to a neuro-affirming clinical practice
  • Availability to work for 10-20 hours per week and to travel to any location in NYC
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn quickly: Google Drive, Asana
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to identify challenges, create solutions, and take initiative
  • Patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor
  • Openness to receive feedback from supervisors
