The Legacy Project of Stark is Hiring a Mentoring Program Manager in Massillon City Schools Near Massillon, OH

Organization Description: The Legacy Project of Stark provides mentorship opportunities through school-based and community-based programs throughout Stark County.

Position Summary: The purpose of the Program Manager (Massillon) is to maintain the health, fidelity, and organizational aspect of imPACT and True SWAG groups, The Legacy Project of Stark’s middle and high school-based program. This role includes managing relationships with schools, mentors, and mentees, ensuring program quality, and achieving measurable outcomes.

Position Title: Program Manager

Job Type: Part Time - Tuesday though Thursday and Saturday. Daytime hours.

Primary Function of the Position: The program manager serves as the on-site staff member for the Legacy Project of Stark’s school-based programs in Massillon. This position will also co-lead the REMIX program on Saturdays at The 708.

Position Specifics:

  • Recruits and schedules volunteer mentors
  • Receives call-offs directly from mentors and finds coverage as needed (track call-offs and follow up)
  • Informs mentors of upcoming trainings, required surveys, and opportunities as assigned by the Director of School Programming
  • Tracks student attendance, and follows up with students miss a group meeting
  • Conducts closure interview with any student choosing to withdraw from the program
  • Communicates with program director of any issues
  • Assists in administering beginning of the year and end of the year surveys to students
  • Sends weekly email to mentors with a “pro tip” on teaching the SEL skill
  • Provides ongoing coaching for mentors (prior to and after group meetings)
  • Builds relational equity with school staff and mentors
  • Ensures curriculum topics are being addressed by mentors and supplies are available
  • Communicates wins/good stories each week
  • Takes photos for social media
  • Serves as a mandated reporter
  • Meets with Program Director as requested
  • Maintain office hours at the 708 (708 Tremont Ave SW, Massillon, OH 44647) as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

The preferred candidate will possess:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with various groups of people such as school personnel, volunteers, and students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and display self-starter attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience leading a team and working with volunteers
  • Reliable Transportation

Training will begin August 5th, 2024. This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
