The BRFSS (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System) Interviewer is responsible for collecting health information on chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, etc. Lawmakers, and policy makers rely on this data collected to shape future programs and funding for current programs in the state of West Virginia. The information collected is used to educate the public and providers and understand the health practices and behavior of West Virginians. So, the most important role as an interviewer is to obtain valid and reliable data.

The interviewer's responsibility is to make cold calls and ask health related questions on the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
The position is very flexible, and the interviewer can create their own schedule based on their availability and shifts each month. The hourly salary is $13.29. Temporary employees can work a minimum of 15 hours per week which must include two Saturdays a month, and 3 to 4 nights per week (minimum ) each month.
Workers must not be currently employed by any state agency.
