Café Lead Supervisor – Job Description and Duties
Responsibilities are as follows:
Behaves and acts in an exemplary fashion, embodying the brand mindset
Supervise the team of Food and Beverage Department, helping them improve their
skills and providing support for career development
Improves sales, the quality of service and promotion of services in compliance with
hygiene and security standards
Conveys the hotel image through his/her attitude, professionalism and
involvement in the field
Ensures that all products served to guests conform to standard and are of good
quality and proper dates
Helps the hotel meet its targets
Provides information for guests within his/her field of competence or directs them to
the right person
Remains polite and courteous at all times whatever customers may request
Handling any complaints concerning food or beverage immediately and sensibly,
and keeps the manager informed.
The supervisor’s role is to make sure that guests food and beverage expectations are
being met or exceeded. They supervise all of the issues related to a patrons dining
experience, like quality control, staff management, health and safety regulations.
Oversee the bar, Cafe and events and functions.
Works the Café shift 2-3 times per week.
Inventory and ordering shift 1 time per week.
Works the pm bar 2 times per week.
Help create the Tapas menu and initiate program for Spring.
Does all food & beverage ordering after approval of manager.
Help integrate a POS system to increase staff productivity.
Monitor quality control specifications, marketing, mass communications, quality
assurance and HACCP guidelines for the food and nutrition department.
Conduct daily/weekly inventory and stocking practices.
Maintain accurate paperwork and inventory.
Create a process, which promote continuity for timely and accurate vendor ordering
procedures.
Participate in interviewing and hiring all FOH staff and service training.
Create a training program for all FOH on knowledge of steps of service, wine and
culinary knowledge.
Help develop new menu items.
Assist with creating and initiating evening food program.
Conduct good standards for guest and emergency request when necessary for the
entire hotel.
Skill in resolving customer concerns, consistently demonstrating professional
communication skills and ability to promote positive public relations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.75 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
