The Position Genentech USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Strategy Manager in its South San Francisco, California location. Duties: Partner with and influence functional partners (e.g., Marketing, Legal, Operational teams) and senior leaders across the Commercial, Medical and Government Affairs organization to make pricing, contracting and distribution related strategy decisions for the portfolio. Provide strategic analytics, insights, modeling and scenario development and recommend solutions to meet company’s strategic, financial and operational objectives. Includes leading cross-functional teams, articulating operational complexities, operational execution, implications, requirements, impacts and the like for all recommended strategies. Explore, develop and maintain pricing and contracting strategies across multiple segments (including national and regional payers, clinics, hospitals, channels). Proactively identify and lead initiatives to implement new/innovative pricing and contracting opportunities for the company (dependent on brand/portfolio needs and/or in partnership with key external accounts); may include market research depending on the situation. Explore, develop and maintain channel distribution strategies while balancing patient access, control, and support needs. Work with US pipeline strategy teams and Global Access/global Lifecycle Teams to ensure that short- and long-term access trends and lifecycle considerations are incorporated in brand-level strategies. Support deliverables for US Leadership Team (USLT) as needed. Educate and share managed care knowledge across field teams, Marketing, and Squads. Provide strategic input/guidance on policy efforts led by External Affairs, Legal and Gov. Pricing that may impact gross/net product pricing or other innovating pricing initiatives. Stay abreast of macro trends in the healthcare environment that potentially impact current and/or future product pricing, contracting and distribution and associated strategies across company’s product portfolio. Education and experience required: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, or related field and 2 years of experience in job offered or closely role in the healthcare industry. Alternatively, employer will accept Bachelor’s in stated fields and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the stated positions in the healthcare industry. Special Requirements: Must have 2 years of experience with the following: Financial modeling & forecasting to evaluate the financial impact of different programs and the short and long term P&L impact, ROI and impact to net sales; Strategy development that will prioritize certain customer types and solve for business objectives; Data analytics & segmentation to obtain customer data sets and determine how to segment to create programs that will target certain customers; Negotiation strategy & analytics to and advise on or complete modeling to inform what terms to offer; Cross-functional project management to execute highly complex programs from strategy to operations. May telecommute 1 day per week. Position requires 20% of domestic travel, fully reimbursed. Worksite: 1 DNA Way, South San Francisco, California, 94080. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $212,000 to $246,024 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
