San Antonio Parish is Hiring a Coordinator of Religious Education Near Port Charlotte, FL
Reports to: DRE and/or Pastor
Location: San Antonio Catholic Church | Port Charlotte, FL
The Coordinator of Religious Education/Youth Ministry Coordinator will plan, integrate, implement, oversee, and evaluate the religious education/faith formation of the total Parish community.
- Coordinate catechetical programs: Faith Formation in Grades K-10, Sacramental Preparation, Home School Supervision, and Youth and Young Adult Faith Formation.
- Assist the DRE and/or Pastor in planning Parish short and long-term goals regarding the religious education program.
- Assist with preparation of the Religious Education operating budgets in accordance with budget policies.
- Collaborate and communicate with the DRE, Pastor and other Parish ministries on an on-going basis regarding scheduling and promotion of events.
- Develop plans and implement for the recruitment and training of catechists and volunteers.
- Schedule regular catechist and volunteer meetings to encourage the development of a catechetical faith community.
- Assist catechists and volunteers with their certification requirements.
- Print schedules for liturgical ministries.
- Help to sort checks.
- Meet the requirements of safe environment policies regarding Safe Environment Training for Youth
- Act as a liaison between the Parish and the Diocesan Office of Religious Education and Youth Ministry with DRE.
- Attend Diocesan meetings related to Religious Education, Youth Ministry and Safe Environment Program
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors Degree preferred, in Religion Education, Theology or Catechetics and Evangelization
- Must be a practicing Roman Catholic
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to collaborate and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, families and children is essential.
