Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Nurse Paralegal in its Kansas City office. The ideal
candidate is professional in demeanor, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with others. Strong organizational skills, the
ability to work efficiently under pressure and quickly learn and integrate new technical skills and knowledge are required
for success in this position. Eligible candidates must have a nursing degree, clinical experience, and administrative
experience in a law firm or legal department. Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) Certification preferred. All candidates must
understand the importance of upholding client confidentiality.
- Review, summarize, and analyze medical records and other pertinent health care and legal documents.
- Research relevant healthcare-related literature, guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare both medical chronologies and narrative summaries of records for internal use and for presentation to the
- Analyze medical records and billings to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the medical evidence including pre-
- Identify and provide information regarding medical experts, communicate with experts, coordinate review material,
- Cross-check facts and verify the accuracy and authenticity of information.
- Assist with trial preparation by providing medical exhibits, demonstrative aides, anatomical models, and timelines.
