JOB DESCRIPTION

JOURNEYMAN TRADESWORKER - ELECTRONICS

QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) High School Diploma or GED.

(2) Possess a valid Florida Driver's license.

(3) Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and PA systems.

(4) Current training and experience equivalent to journeyman level.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Considerable knowledge of basic electronic principles. Knowledge and ability to operate and maintain complex electronic equipment including P.A. systems, fire alarm systems, and bell systems, including their installation. Knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair defects in electronic equipment. Ability to work with wiring diagrams, schematics, and sketches.

Coordinator of Maintenance

JOB GOAL
To maintain assigned systems at peak capacity in order to ensure the safety and health of all students and employees.

SUPERVISES:

N/A

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Inspect, repair, upgrade and maintain the fire alarm, P.A, and intercom systems in all district facilities.

(2) Assist Systems Support Specialist with camera and access control systems as needed.

(3) Supervise and develop bid specifications for fire alarm systems for all new construction and construction upgrades.

(4) Assist school personnel with the purchase of new electronic equipment as needed.

(5) Formulate and track budget items of electronic items as needed.

(6) Maintain an inventory of replacement parts and components.

(7) Keep time and work records and prepare work reports.

(8) Use effective positive interpersonal communication skills.

(9) Perform job responsibilities with sustained focus and attention to detail for extended periods of time.

(10) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the job goal of this position. *

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the district's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the district.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Pay: $47,596.35 per year
