Quest Employment Services is seeking a Project SEARCH Employment Specialist for our Project SEARCH site at Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, TX to begin August 19th. Interviews will take place in July.

The Employment Specialist will collaborate with Lewisville Independent School District, the host business (Gaylord), and Texas Workforce Solutions (TWS) to facilitate seamless transitions for young adults with disabilities (customers/interns) Under the supervision of the Quest Employment Services Director, the Employment Specialist develops job opportunities and placements for interns, contacts employers for job openings, and works with employers to identify positions and tasks for their clients.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Operate within the framework of the school district's leadership, fostering a culture of positivity and mutual respect.

Receive guidance and direction from Quest’s Director to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Perform home visits with new interns and their guardians/families, explaining services, gathering required information, and conducting assessments.

Collaborate with the school district and TWS to coach interns on job search techniques including application completion, interview presentation, and on/off-site job training, while promoting program development across diverse settings.

Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of intern/customer progress, services provided, and outcomes achieved, utilizing a positive, objective, and descriptive narrative style in compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrate strong leadership skills and have the ability to self-manage.

Maintain confidential and organized electronic case files and conduct case management as necessary.

Demonstrate adept problem-solving skills, exercise sound judgment, and make ethical decisions in alignment with the code of ethics governing vocational rehabilitation practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using databases or case management systems.

Secure or be willing to immediately secure necessary employment credentials obtained through UNTWISE. Priority will be given to those candidates who already possess Job Skills Training, Job Placement, or Supported Employment credentials from UNTWISE.

Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Special Education or similar area of study required.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Must be willing to travel- travel limited to businesses in and around the greater Lewisville area.

Must be willing to drive interns to and from businesses for interviews utilizing a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current insurance coverage.

This position will not be on site during the summer. The Employment Specialist will be conducting home visits for upcoming interns and job coaching interns and other TWC customers throughout the summer.

Two of Quest’s Directors are Certified Rehabilitation Counselors so this position can offer extensive client contact hours and serve as potential practicum/internship sites for Graduate Students.
