Regional Director of Operations - IONM

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Operational accountability for the clinical, operational and financial management of assigned markets to meet or exceed clinical, productivity, quality and financial targets, and to comply with The Joint Commission standards, contractual requirements, the Company’s policies, applicable policies at the account(s), and other applicable regulatory requirements. Builds and maintains clinical relationships with customers and physicians.Provides direction in managing complex customer, physician and employee relations issues. Performs clinical services on an interim basis.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Operational accountability for all program in the assigned market(s) to meet or exceed:
    • Managing day to day operational requirements including scheduling, credentialing of associates, meeting daily client needs
    • Targeted quality outcomes
    • Budgeted financial targets including inventory, equipment, labor, travel and other expenses
    • Targeted staffing and productivity levels
    • Ensures completion of assigned goals and tasks is achieved on every supportinglevel
    • Contractual requirements for programs
    • Client or physician needs
    • The Joint Commission requirements
    • Compliance with:
      • The Company’s policies and standards;
      • Applicable policies at the account(s);
      • Other applicable regulatory requirements;
    • Company’s mission, vision and values
  • Serves on Region President’s team and is responsible for:
    • Assisting with executing operational initiatives identified market development plan
    • Analyzing trends and market information
    • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and control expenditures
    • Participating in leadership meetings
      • Reporting at risk accounts and developing an action plan to address
      • Keeping abreast of competitive information and sharing with company leaders
      • Working with suppliers to drive mutual value
  • Manages the budgeting, planning and management of the financial operations for all programs in assigned market(s) including:
    • Compiles financial, clinical, productivity, quality, inventory, asset management and other business reports for the assigned market(s)
    • Under the direction of the Region President, successful renewal of the client contracting process
    • Analyzes financial reports and directs operational processes to meet or exceed budget
    • Analyzes productivity reports and directs scheduling and staffing processes to meet or exceed targeted results
    • Develops and implements operational improvement processes to continuously meet or exceed targeted financial results
    • Conducts business reviews bi-annually with all clients and has regular on-site relationship management meetings on a monthly basis
    • Drives penetration and appropriate revenue margins
  • Builds relationships with physicians, operating room staff, and customers including hospital administrators, and hospital materials management and billing employees to:
    • Meet contractual requirements;
    • Resolve clinical, credentialing or operational issues;
    • Maintain client satisfaction;
    • Retain accounts;
  • Directs employment activities of clinical associates in the market(s) including but not limited to the following areas:
    • Recruiting, interviewing and selecting;
    • Developing associates through orientation, training and education;
    • Appraising and rewarding performance;
    • Managing employee relations issues;
    • Fostering open communications;
    • Conducting regular associate meetings; and
    • Managing changes
  • Performs clinical services on an interim basis to maintain certifications and licenses as needed

Education:

 

·Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field

·Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

 

·Five (5) years operational and financial management experience in health care for multi-state operations

·Experience as a Clinical Leader or senior manager over multiple locations or large hospital system preferred

·Prefer experience with contract management of clinical services to hospitals and other health care systems

Knowledge and Skills:

 

·Demonstrated leadership of people and business processes

·Proven track record in managing change in complex environments

·Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and prepare business and financial reports and documents

·Ability to analyze data, develop improvement plans, and lead implementation of improvement plans with individuals and groups including employees, customers and physicians

·Must have use of personal automobile for business purposes; must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; must also have the minimum coverage for personal automobile insurance as required by the State of residence

·Meets credentialing and licensure requirements for the assigned programs and have documented verification of credentials

·Ability to influence perceptions, decisions and actions of others through effective communications

·Ability to read and interpret business and industry related information and reports

·Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, associates or organizations

·Ability to clearly speak, write and understand English

·Travel up to 30% of the time – typically within region

·Must have innovative, creative, systematic and logistical reasoning skills

·Must have computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

 

  • Salary Estimate: $108,800 - $174,000 / year (Several factors, such as specific skill set, education level, certifications and years of experience, are considered to determine actual compensation.)

Other compensation: sign-on bonus, AIP bonus, MDEP participation, new account revenue commission, lead development incentive and professional development allowance.
