Job Overview

As a Project Superintendent at McLauchlin, you will manage all day-to-day activities of the job site including scheduling work by subcontractors, material deliveries and job site safety. The Project
Superintendent plays a crucial role in the successful completion of new construction and renovation projects throughout Florida. Through solution-based communication, forward thinking and boots-on-the-ground leadership of vendors and subcontractors, you are able to leave your fingerprint on the success of the company. We foster an environment where personal and professional growth are both expected and encouraged. This position reports to the Project Manager and the President of McLauchlin & Company.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience as a Field Superintendent managing construction projects
  • Experience with AHCA projects a plus
  • Knowledge of Procore Construction Management software
  • Critical thinking skills and being self-motivated are required
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail are a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the state for projects
  • Hands-on management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles and techniques
  • Ability to be flexible and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to meet or exceed the project schedule
  • Prioritize tasks and the critical path, reporting any deficiencies to subcontractor and/or vendor and to McLauchlin management.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • Manage and schedule hourly laborers
  • Work with the project manager to review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy
  • Oversee and manage subcontractors to meet quality and budget expectations on projects
  • Ensure projects are completed per specs by understanding the scope of work, contract documents, schedules and project drawings for each
  • Review and maintain jobsite plan sets, shop drawings and submittals
  • Identify cost savings and /or time schedule reduction potential
  • Maintain compliance with McLauchlin safety program. Documenting any room for improvement or violations and corrections.
  • Provide daily progress report and project photos of milestones, observations, change events and schedule variances
  • Write daily project reports and RFI’s in a clear manner
  • Create a weekly 3 week look ahead schedule and distribute to subs and vendors for planning
  • Ensure that project site is clean and organized daily
  • Prepare and complete punch lists for project closeout
  • Assist MCL administrative team in creating close out documents
  • Keeping accurate as-built drawings for projects

Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
