POSITION SUMMARY Assist with the safe and efficient operation of snowmaking equipment, ensuring that all standards, compliance, and performance goals are achieved, as completing scheduled maintenance and repairs. Starting wage between $20.75/hr. - $28.60/hr. depending on experience. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES At least eighteen (18) years old Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) Mechanical aptitude and ability to carry out multi-step instructions A valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Familiarity and working knowledge of OSHA and safety practices Must be able to pass Company certification as a Snowmobile Operator Ability to operate equipment as trained Ability to read and comply with documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Able to work flexible schedules, including second and third shifts Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Follow all Company and Department Safety Policies and Procedures. Attend training and safety meetings, as well as exhibit the application and retention of all material presented. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions; as well as further develop professional skills, abilities, and knowledge. Exhibit willingness to perform other duties as assigned or assist in efforts outside of department as needed. Inspection, startup, positioning, and shutdown of snowmaking equipment. Monitor and make adjustment(s) to snowmaking equipment for maximum production and quality, while in constant communication with Supervisor/Manager. Collaborate with Supervisor/Manager on safety, training, transportation, and equipment needs. Read work orders, perform inspections, troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues, determine best course of action to correct issues, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Complete preventative maintenance of equipment. Assist Supervisor with regulatory local, state, and federal compliance and documentation requirements. Respond to emergency issues that might arise during off-duty hours. WORKING CONDITIONS Mental strain and fatigue may occasionally be caused by trying to resolve issues, meeting deadlines, and balancing the wants and needs of the departmental staff. Handling emergency situations and working in adverse weather conditions may cause additional mental strain. Physical hazards include walking up and down steep stairways or driving on surfaces that may be wet/frozen and slippery, as well as exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases. Physical strain may also be caused by lifting or movement of heavy objects, as well as repetitive fine motor activities. Snow Summit LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
