We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the POIETO team! This is a 3-month trial with opportunity for full-time hire after successful engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code.
• Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
• Scaling development of MVP to be secure, robust, and sustainable, and to uphold POIETO values of privacy, consent, transparency, and accountability.
• Working with a small, cross-functional and hybrid-remote team, and collaborating with front-end, data science, and integrations specialists as needed.
• Being accountable for full stack tool functionality.
• Managing security of proprietary code, AWS infrastructure, and user data.

Basic qualifications:

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Strong experience developing and shipping MERN stack applications.
• Experience working with ML pipelines deployed with AWS.
• Experience with database management, including relational databases and NoSQL databases.
• Experience working in fast-paced, iterative environments and collaborating one on one with Designers, UX Researchers, and product stakeholders.
• Excellent cross-discipline communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in impact-focused work.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with building and deploying end-to-end machine learning pipelines, from data preprocessing to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Familiarity with creative coding tools (i.e. Processing, p5.js).
• Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontrollers and hardware.
• Strong portfolio showcasing exemplary problem solving abilities and excitement in exploring new concepts.
