Applicants must be 18 years of age The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Base hourly pay range: $25.71 - $35.99 per hour Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned: Assist in overall direction and performance of Snowmaking Department including daily operations and planning. Supervisory responsibilities include but not limited to interviewing, hiring, training, planning assigning, succession planning, and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Issues written and oral instructions on a daily basis in a clear and concise manner to staff. Assign duties and examines work for safety, exactness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Standardizes procedures with emphasis on improving efficiency of subordinates and creates training and communications to influence and improve department. Assist in overall Snowmaking coordination, communication and product performance enterprise wide. Responsible for, maintaining labor and equipment budget. Checks and manages payroll for overtime, compliance with labor model. Determines work priorities, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow Attend/Contribute to all Department Head Group events as required/requested Participate in all Company/Department training events as required/requested Able to respond quickly and appropriately to requests made by internal and external stakeholders including guests, peers, and management Must be able and willing to take on additional tasks and assignments Help develop & communicate daily Snowmaking Plan as necessary Responsible for daily and weekly reporting Completes all required documentation; comply with all applicable laws & policies. Manage R&M/PM Program, establish/maintain good working relationship with vendors & contractors Assists with regular safety meetings and inspections. Assists with investigation and documents all work comp incidents. Monitors and consults with other managers regarding weather conditions and makes decisions if the conditions are conducive to making snow. Assists Manager with direction of snowmakers on placement of snowmaking equipment as necessary. Communicates and collaborates daily with Snowmaking Manager, Snow Surface Director, Mountain Manager, Grooming Manager and VP of Mt Operations regarding ski area and snowmaking operations as a part of daily routine. Maintains a high level of integrity, cooperation, and communication with the snowmaking team and other Palisades Tahoe departments. Supervise a team of 1-25 employees. Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Perform all the job responsibilities and duties of snowmakers. Competencies and Job Requirements: Required: Strong mechanical skills. Effective communication skills, oral & written. Successful interpersonal skills Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with others. Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Access). Education and Experience: Required: Experience/familiarity with Palisades Tahoe snowmaking system. 3 or more years of experience as a Snowmaker. 2 years of experience in supervisory position. High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license. Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate, this job may experience hazards such as mechanical, electrical, fumes, odors, dusts, gases.
