Elevate Search is partnering with a rapidly growing surgical navigation company in Irvine, CA to find a Senior Mechanical Product Development Engineer for its team. They just had their best year yet and continue to soar!!

This person will ideally have at least 5 years experience designing and developing orthopedic instruments (or similar). You will be working with a small, stellar team of engineers who have extensive experience in this space. GD&T, Design Control knowledge, and Solidworks experience are critical. This person must understand how to collect surgeon inputs and synthesize into appealing commercial designs. Minimal hand-holding. Need someone who is well-versed in rapid design-build-test cycles with teams of surgeons and sales people. Bench evaluations, cadavers, in-surgery evals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and development of new products.
• Detailed mechanical design of orthopedic instruments, injection molded parts, packaging and electromechanical assemblies.
• Machine design, dimensioning and tolerancing, GDT, mating part analyses, fits and finishes
• Conduct product verification, validation & qualification testing for compliance with regulatory standards, engineering principles, company procedures and policies, customer requirements and related specifications.
• Document the manufacture of product in compliance with the company’s quality system.
• Transition product from design phase to production.
