The ideal candidate for this position has had prior experience in a fine dining restaurant. This candidate will provide support to our Award Winning, Executive Chef. The Sous Chef is the chef in charge at times when the Executive Chef is not on duty. The Sous Chef will lead the team to flawlessly execute all of our guests meals. The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting with scheduling, inventory and creating specials. Ability to work all stations, train new hires and develop other kitchen staff as needed to help build their skills which will allow growth within the company. Culinary training/coursework is a plus but is not required. Commitment to the customers, reliable to his or her co-workers, and be a self-motivated, organized, and detailed individual is a must. Effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, and behavior are all required for this position.
Max Downtown is our flagship restaurant located in the heart of Hartford. This location is known for its white glove hospitality and wonderful menu of the freshest ingredients. Providing a creative culinary experience for our guests while following the procedures of the restaurant is expected in this role.
