Role Description

As a Technical Program Manager at FirstParty, you will drive complex technical programs and projects from conception through completion. This includes collaborating with stakeholders across engagement management, data science, data analysis, and engineering to develop comprehensive project plans, ensuring projects are properly scoped and resourced based on business requirements to deliver on time and within budget. Your role involves refining project management methodologies, implementing best practices, creating capacity planning dashboards, and tracking and analyzing project performance metrics to provide insights for future improvements. Ultimately, you will play a key role in driving the success of client and internal FirstParty projects through a mission-focused mentality centered on organizational scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help collect, synthesize, and communicate program level operational requirements between internal and client teams.
  • Work with internal technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop project plans based on business requirements and program guidelines, mapping out sprint schedules, resource allocation, and dependencies of deliveries.
  • Be accountable for roadmap delivery including adoption and success criteria as defined in collaboration with your stakeholders.
  • Dive in and understand the overall architecture and distinct components of a project, applying this knowledge to more effectively plan and deliver projects.
  • Drive cross-functional program meetings and project execution to foster collaboration and ensure alignment for on-time delivery.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation, monitor and control project expenses to stay within budget constraints.
  • Monitor program status, identify issues / risks, succinctly communicate issues, and proactively collaborate to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant documents. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties.
  • Implement, improve, streamline, and standardize processes and best practices across the organization as needed to increase operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Create project team utilization dashboards to translate daily and weekly sprint activity into analytic results for broad stakeholder understanding and capacity planning.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in technical program or project management which involved direct customer and partner interaction
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience leading end-to-end client engineering solutions projects with technical and operational teams in a start-up preferred
  • Exceptional working experience in Jira and the Atlassian suite, and ability to implement new standards that drive operational efficiency
  • Practical experience in managing multiple strategic programs with exceptional coordination, facilitation, communication, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage complexity, navigate ambiguity as well as build trust and credibility with senior leaders and key stakeholders
  • Exhibits a growth mindset and an eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Attention to detail. Persistently pursues ground truth and is not satisfied with surface-level answers or convenient explanations. Digs deep to thoroughly understand the underlying components of deliverables and team requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proactive communicator and doesn’t hesitate to raise issues and ask for clarification or help
