How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Technical Inside Sales Representative, you will support Airport Ground Lighting (AGL) sales in commercial and military markets. You will leverage your subject matter expertise in the aviation for the FAA and ICAO to support revenue generation by soliciting and obtaining orders, understanding and interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information, and developing accounts.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Application and Technical Product Support:
Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions
Ensure technical compatibility with the end-user application
Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications
Complete intermediate-level solar calculations
Ensure Airport Ground Lighting bids are compliant with all regulatory requirements
Support expeditionary Airfield Lighting Projects for military applications
Organize bids for international projects
Customer Support:
Act as subject matter expert for assigned product lines and application levels
Respond to technical needs of customer service, outside sales representatives and customers for technical or application questions
Achieve and maintain rapport with customers, ensuring the best possible service
Other Responsibilities:
Follow safe work practices and procedures, and ensure a “safety first” culture in every task undertaken
General office support where required
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
Relevant experience in aviation, Airport Management, Private Pilot or Airfield lighting
1 – 2 years of direct work experience in a sales or tele-sales
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of applicable FAA and ICAO regulations as it relates to aviation marking and lighting
Strong problem identification and resolution skills
Experience with customer relationship management software and Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook. Experience with Salesforce or SAP is a plus.
Education & Certifications
University or college degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Travel & Working Environment
Travel less than 10%
