Job title: Patient Concierge

Experience: 2-3 years medical office experience preferred

$18 - $21 an hour

Duties summary: Candidate will be responsible for all general medical office duties. This includes collecting all types of payments, reconciling the daily batch, scheduling patient appointments, obtaining demographic and other patient information, the checking 'in' and 'out' of patients, handling phone calls and providing professional customer service in a pleasant and efficient manner.

Skills:
Must be able to calculate and collect appropriate fees
Knowledge of medical business office procedures

Must be familiar with HIPPA

Must know the daily schedule details
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Must be able to complete tasks and keep composure in stressful situations.
Must be familiar with all procedures offered

Environment/Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting. Work may be stressful and confrontational at times due to dealing with the public, finances and office personalities. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Must be able to remain calm in difficult situations. Thus, the need for prioritizing and multitasking skills is essential.

Job Requirements:
Follow opening and closing procedures according to the office guidelines.

Experience with Nextech software is a plus
Schedule every qualified patient for an appointment
Greet patients in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provide and necessary services, instructions and directions. Interact with office staff to perform these functions
Obtain and enter patient demographics; update patient information, as necessary, in the computer system to maintain accuracy for treatment and billing

Take responsibility to calculate and collect all payments due at the time of the visit as required by office policies, which includes a signed patient procedure quote when needed
Prepare day sheets at closing showing the day's total receipts; matches the days transactions.
Enter credit card and check deposits
Reviews all forms and records for accuracy and completion according to the office policies

Check in arriving patients
Check out departing patients
Schedule return appointments at check-out
Confirm patient's appointments with reminder calls
Answer phone, permanently document and distribute messages
Prepare and send outgoing faxes, as well as, collect and distribute incoming faxes
Scan notes, labs and etc. into charts
Make and send out required records
Be responsible for a professional atmosphere to include appropriate attire(according to the office manual) and a well-organized working area.
Maintain a neat and clean waiting are.
Accept other office maintenance and patient need duties as assigned

We are looking for a computer savvy, professional person who can multi-task for a very busy doctor’s office. This is a 'people person' position, and there is heavy computer entry involved as well. Must have strong communication skills. This requires a loyal, mature, stable, self-motivated person that can handle stressful situations with ease and poise. We need this team player to be a fast learner, a quick worker and a person who can take responsibility to do what is needed to get the job done.

This is a full-time position.
Compensation will be determined based on experience.
