We are dedicated to supporting our global, pet loving community by educating pet owners on the benefits of 100% all natural ingredients, donating to pet shelters, rescues and pet related causes across the USA, supporting not for profit organizations like Pets for Vets, and creating jobs and additional quality control by manufacturing our own Made in the USA treats on site in New Jersey. Responsibilities

• Organize, direct, monitor, and train a team of 6-8 employees.
• Monitor and review all paperwork and ensure required documents are accurate, timely, and completed in full. Ensure product traceability procedures are being followed by all packing staff.
• Responsible for operating industrial ovens including start up, shut down, adjusting settings throughout cooking process, and identifying and communicating maintenance concerns.
• Able to correctly set industrial ovens, monitor cooking process, and check product water activity to achieve good product quality within customer specifications.
• Communicate with management regarding work load, job statuses, scheduling concerns, equipment maintenance concerns, and any recommended improvements to the work station.
• Responsible for the process of unloading carts from ovens, ensuring quality checks are completed, removing product from rack and storing in bins, and shipping bins
• Assist in solving quality and production problems. Proactively assess processes and paperwork to help identify concerns. Communicate with management and other dept heads to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Commit to plant safety procedures as well as learn and follow OSHA, HACCP, SQF, and FDA policies. Must also promote a safe working environment within their department.
• Perform daily audits, quality checks, and file paperwork.
• Ensure work area is clean, neat, and organized.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA, SQF, HACCP and FDA compliance preferred
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
• Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
• Computer literacy (excel, word, inventory management software such as fishbowl or SAP)
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
• Self motivated and proactive.
• Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
• Organized and high attention to detail
• Forklift certified
