Job Summary

The Stocker Team Member provides a delightful customer experience while maintaining a welcoming, well-merchandised department. This person supports the receiving department and embodies the spirit of a team player. The stocker is one of the most important roles in the store because, without them, we could not maintain the inventory on the floor to sell products. The Stocker Team Member interacts with customers, vendors, and fellow Green Earth Team Members in a positive and authentic manner and follows the direction of the receiving department lead and store management.

DAILY OPERATIONS: The Stocker Team Member’s primary responsibilities to execute the following.

• Provide exceptional customer service to all. Including helping customers bring purchases to their vehicles when needing assistance.
• Receiving and stocking all store products.
• Stocks and handles products following guidelines for time and temperature demands.
• Rotating back stock on a first-in first-out basis.
• Maintains and organizes back-stock and storage areas according to department standards
• Ensures all grocery items are merchandised attractively.
• Checks product quality to ensure freshness. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action per inventory procedures.
• Report product inventory count discrepancies to management.
• Understands Green Earth inventory management practices
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment in storage areas which includes light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting and packaging disposal.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Full sense range (vision, hearing and sense of smell) – the ability to read product labels, distinguish color & smell for quality control as well as the ability to communicate with the customers and co-workers.
• Lifting, gripping and carrying objects – up to 50-75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools and other products.
• Stooping, squatting, & kneeling – stoop and maneuver to pick up boxes from shelving and carts.
• Walking – short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas.
• Standing- prolonged standing.
• Work environment – movement based with most of the time being in motion (walking & standing) rather that sedentary (sitting).
• Climate – ability to work in cold environments (cooler, Freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods of time on a regular basis.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
