Job description

Field Service Technicians provide on-site installation, startup, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of our pneumatic tube delivery systems in hospitals and health care settings. Technicians deliver outstanding service and support to our customers to keep their systems performing in a critical environment. This remote position requires regular travel to customer sites.

Essential Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain pneumatic tube delivery systems
• Perform system upgrades
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
• Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical issues, order parts for repairs; communicate recommendations to hospital engineers/mechanical staff
• Conduct training of customers and facility maintenance staff
• Complete field service documentation and download system log files in a timely manner
• Provide helpdesk support to customers and other field service technicians
• Frequent travel within and beyond defined territory to support customer needs or assist other service technicians
• Occasionally contribute to special projects including design critique, testing procedures and/or system parameters
• Work as required with minimal supervision in compliance with all safety requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and customer service skills
• Associate Degree or Technical Certification (preferred)
• 2 years field service experience maintaining, repairing and/or installing comparable equipment
• Electronic, electrical and mechanical aptitude including use of hand tools and precision measuring equipment
• Familiar with Windows operating system
• Ability to troubleshoot, modify and repair mechanical, electrical or other equipment
• Ability to climb, twist, kneel, maneuver in small areas, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility for frequent travel out of state and outside of regular working hours (travel up to 75%)
• Reliable transportation (company vehicle not provided)
