JOB TITLE: Full-time Park Laborer

REPORTS TO: Park Foreman

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
All employees are responsible for conducting themselves in a professional manner while performing their duties efficiently and conscientiously, working safely, and maintaining good housekeeping.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The park laborer performs routine park maintenance tasks such as removal of litter from park properties, snow removal, mowing, ball field maintenance and making minor repairs to buildings and equipment as needed. All tasks and should be performed and equipment used in accordance with standard safety procedures and in compliance with manufacturers instructions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

• Ability to operate a mowers, chainsaws and other small power tools
• Trash pick-up and hauling to landfill from all park properties
• Assist with snow removal, either by hand/shovel or by plow
• Under direction of park foreman, tree trimming, weed-eating, and general grounds maintenance.
• Assist skilled laborer/carpenter with jobs as needed, with approval of park foreman.
• Assist in making minor repairs as needed, with approval of park foreman.
• Other duties as they relate to the maintenance and care of ball fields and other park and recreation facilities.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Education, training and experience required to perform the job functions.
• High School graduate or GED
• Experience helpful but not necessary
• Valid Driver’s License
• One or more of the following certifications…CPO, CPSI, Spraying within 6 months of employment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Varies greatly, much of the work is performed outdoors in all types of weather. Some work is performed in a garage and occasionally, indoors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
