The Pinon Project is Hiring a Homelessness Street Outreach Near Cortez, CO

Homelessness Street Outreach: Uses a strength-based, community-centered approach in supporting the growth of a healthier community through the coordination of community services and other supports and resources for unsheltered people. This position will support walk-in clients and focus heavily on homelessness intervention and support through coordination of services, data collection, and street outreach. This position requires the ability to perform street outreach, build rapport and trust and support community level problem solving to end homelessness. EOE. Job Type: Part-Time/ 25 hours week

Salary: $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday- Thursday 10:30am-3:00pm
  • Every Other Friday 7:30am-6pm

*The importance of communication skills and teamwork in the work place to give the customer a good experience is essential for the Piñon Project. Clients must never leave with a feeling they have been slighted because the employee did not know their job and no client should ever be met with the response “I don’t know, that isn’t my department.”

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Uses a strength-based, community-centered approach in supporting the growth of a healthier community through the coordination of community services and other supports and resources for unsheltered people. This position will support walk-in clients and focus heavily on homelessness intervention and support through coordination of services, data collection, and street outreach. This position requires the ability to perform street outreach, build rapport and trust and support community level problem solving to end homelessness
  • Know and follow Personnel Policies, Administrative Directives, Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Coordinate resources and services with other Pinon Project departments.
  • Coordinate resources and services with other community agencies and non-profit organizations.
  • Attend and participate in community events as directed
  • Maintain confidential records, data entry and other necessary files
  • Attend scheduled meetings as directed
  • Promote and participate in community collaborations and wrap around services
  • Assist with other tasks as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience-High School Diploma or Equivalency, preferred lived experience.
  • Language ability- Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, co-workers and in public forums.
  • Computer skills- A working knowledge of word processing software, use of internet and ability to learn necessary data entry programs.
  • Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and confidentiality of records.
  • Certificates and Licenses- Must have a valid Colorado driver license. Must be able to pass all training requirements and maintain any necessary certifications.
  • Background- Must consent to background checks and drug tests (initial and random).

Job Type: Part-time
