DTS Inc. / Diversified Technical Systems, Inc. is Hiring a Technical Support Engineer/Calibration Technician - Tokoy, Japan Near Seal Beach, CA

The Technical Support Engineer/Calibration Technician for our office in Tokyo, Japan is responsible for performing a wide variety of responsibilities and tasks including but not limited to, technical support of customers and calibration of equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Tests and re-calibrates DTS Data Acquisition and Sensor products using automated software procedures.
  • Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting on data acquisition systems and components.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction with timely turnaround of re-calibrations and repair work.
  • Conforms and contributes to the DTS Quality Management System, including completion of calibration, service, and build reports.
  • Functions as a front-line agent on the Help Center.
  • Updates and manages content on the Help Center.
  • Provides web-based or on-site technical support and product training.
  • Completes special projects, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities for the job.   • Technical degree and previous (approximately 5 years) experience in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Technical degree in electronics is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using electronic test equipment, such as lab-grade meters and power supplies is necessary.
  • Previous experience working directly with customers in support of technical service and sales is necessary.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics is necessary.
  • Soldering experience of through hole and surface mount components, fine gauge wiring and high-density connectors is a plus.
  • Previous software programming experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with data acquisition systems and knowledge of test and measurement industry a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of computer programs, such as, Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set goals and priorities, and meet deadlines is necessary.
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, inter-personal communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, and an ability to work effectively in a team-based environment across all levels of the organization is necessary.

  • Ability to adapt to change and react positively to changing business needs is necessary.

Any offer extended to a candidate or salary increase consideration for a current employee will be based on the individual s unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity.
