Located amid Shasta-Trinity National Forest at the foot of Castle Crags State Park, Railroad Park Resort is the crown jewel of Dunsmuir, California. Serving guests since 1968, it has been a favorite destination with families for generations, whether they want to eat in our Dining Car, sleep in a caboose, or commune with nature in our campground.

We are currently seeking a courteous Motel Houseman and Laundry Attendants to deliver the ultimate in guest satisfaction at our inclusive property. This position’s responsibilities include managing laundry operations and removing linens and trash from rooms after guest checkout. This includes emptying trash cans, as well as refrigerators, microwaves, and coffeemakers. When needed, the Motel Houseman will be assigned to clean guest rooms in a timely and organized manner.

All Cast Members are expected to maintain the security of any equipment, keys and supplies issued to them. Lost and found articles must be reported to the immediate supervisor. Cast Members must respond to guest requests in a friendly and timely manner. If you have a passion for customer service and have work experience in the hotel industry, we want you to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Strip beds and bring bed bundles weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. to rooms
  • Empty trash throughout entire room
  • Operate washers and dryers according to resort standards and manufacturers’ guidelines
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order
  • Receive soiled linens and inspect for damaged or stained items
  • Fold and store clean linens in housekeeping area and report damages to supervisor
  • Deliver items to guest rooms upon request
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • All Cast Members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company dress code policy (specific standards outlined at orientation)
  • Perform any related duties as requested by the management team

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A combination of 1-2 years of customer service and/or laundry experience in a hospitality setting
  • Minimum high school education (or equivalent)
  • Must have a pleasing, hospitable demeanor to engage with guests
  • Experienced working with computers, email, and phone application software
  • Be courteous to everyone

Physical Demands of the Position

  • Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach and retrieve items from overhead
  • Stand on a regular basis throughout the shift
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks at one time
  • Must be able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations
  • Must have the ability to keep breakage to a minimum by handling dishes, glassware, and fragile equipment with care
