The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts is Hiring a Registrar Near Norwalk, CT

Job Summary:

The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts is seeking an experienced higher education professional to join our team as Conservatory Registrar. The Registrar will play a pivotal role in managing academic operations within our institution, overseeing student registrations, monitoring academic progress, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. With minimal supervision, this role will be instrumental in initiating the process of filing for NAST accreditation, collaborating with department heads to establish academic policies, and managing program and institutional licensure proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in higher education administration, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for supporting student success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process of filing for initial NAST accreditation, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish and carry out academic policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Manage student registrations, course enrollments, and academic records in the student information system (ampEducator).
  • Monitor the academic progress of students, identify at-risk students, and communicate concerns regarding academics and policies.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and liaison between faculty, staff, and students regarding academic matters.
  • Oversee the development of the annual academic calendar, course schedules, student handbook updates, and course catalog.
  • Lead the submission of program licensure and institutional licensure applications in Veoci for Connecticut Office of Higher Educational approval.
  • Assess incoming student files for transfer articulation alongside the Director of Admissions to ensure accurate credit transfer.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations related to academic operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of student records in accordance with FERPA regulations.
  • Stay ahead of trends and developments in higher education administration and academic policy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a bonus in higher education administration, student affairs, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in registrar or education administration roles.
  • Experience with student information systems and academic scheduling software.
  • Strong understanding of accreditation standards and requirements, preferably with experience in NAST accreditation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

The Conservatory is comprised of a faculty of the greatest artists currently working in theatre and television. Located in Norwalk, Connecticut, our campus is in the backyard of the biggest theatre city in the world. We operate as a space where the artists of today can train, audition for professional work, and grow simultaneously. The conservatory built The LINK Program which developed into the full two-year conservatory that comprises NoCo today.
