Duties and Responsibilities
ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Chair, Academic Excellence, this role provides academic and administrative leadership for the Teaching & Learning Innovation Hub at Cambrian College. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations, budget, staff, project management activity, and resources of the Teaching & Learning Hub.
- Overseeing the planning and delivery of professional development and learning initiatives for Faculty
- Delivering strategies to develop and promote teaching excellence and overseeing the delivery of teaching excellence initiatives, such as the Teaching Excellence Program for new faculty
- Supporting both synchronous and asynchronous learning strategies, oversee the College’s Moodle system, and facilitate engagement with Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigeneity (EDII) perspectives
- Supporting the development of models of experiential learning in consultation with Deans, Faculty, and staff
- Must have a Masters Degree in Education or a related field. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with the application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
- Minimum of three years’ Teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level
- Minimum of three years' experience with Educational Technology, Instructional Design, and/or Educational Development (including curriculum design)
- Experience working with learning management systems, and web-based authoring tools related to education and training
- Experience in managing projects utilizing a variety of tools as well as coordinating large-scale project tasks with relevant team members.
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of project management and team leadership with the ability to track and advance several projects at once, and to maintain multiple sources of information and data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong initiative, organization and time management skills.
