Openings in Central and Southwest Michigan
This position is responsible for obtaining proper permits as required by law to carry out refrigeration mechanic work. The licensed refrigeration mechanic performs skilled assignments involving installation of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, pneumatic, humidity, and digital direct control systems as part of construction and or remodeling projects. Maintain all HVAC systems and associated equipment at all MSP Facilities.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.
Required Education And ExperienceEducation
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
ExperienceFour years of experience in the refrigeration mechanic trade, including two years performing skilled refrigeration mechanic assignments.
Alternate Education and Experience
Completion of a refrigeration mechanic's vocational training program that included commercial or industrial level instruction may be substituted for two years of experience.
Additional Requirements And InformationThis position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.

Michigan Mechanical Contractor’s License (Minimum of both limited heating and limited refrigeration).
