Description

Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is one of the most innovative public media organizations in the country. Every day, TPT uses the power of media to advance the arts, spur engagement and learning, help young people succeed and support adults aging vitally. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an IT Project Manager. The Project Manager manages complex projects from planning though delivery. This position serves as liaison between stakeholders and technical development team and has both business and technical expertise.

The Project Manager leads project teams without direct people management responsibility. Communicates with and between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, other stakeholders and leadership to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are progressing to appropriate outcome and deadlines. Utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines. Plans and facilitates project meetings to align the project team to methods and goals. Tracks project tasks and communicates on project progress updates through appropriate management channels on a regular basis, ensuring innovation. The Project Manager applies professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project teams and control project schedule, cost, and performance risks to ensure successful project completion and innovation.

Hiring Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 annually (depending on qualifications)

Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area.

Project Management & Business Analysis (75% of time)

  • Acting as business analyst working with key project stakeholders to formulate and communicate project scope, product requirements and specifications.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies. Documents system requirements, defines scope and objectives, and creates system specifications that drive system development and implementation. Initialize and draft parts of the Statement of Work for potential projects
  • Responsible for thoroughly understanding and communicating stakeholder requirements to appropriate team members. Collaborate with Software Development Manager and Developers on-task and milestone planning.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute projects to timelines and deliverables that meet quality, on-time delivery and budget requirements. Establish clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed and provide timely feedback on project activity.
  • Communicate the project weekly status updates including project progress, review of project tasks, project risks, milestones, budget, and project issues. Conduct regular status update meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholders' needs and requirements in mind.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues when the need arises, promote solutions, and escalate appropriately as needed.
  • Ensure customer training and installation planning aligns with customer expectations.
  • Act as expertise and reference for project stakeholders on questions concerning project management processes, tools and templates.

Administrate Project Management Software (20% of time)

  • Work with department leaders to identify the most effective Project Management software for TPT.
  • Configure and set up project progress dashboards for teams to see project statuses.
  • Keep projects up to date with software so teams can understand deadlines and deliverables.

Other Duties as Assigned (5% of time)

  • Participate as an active member of the IT Team. Contribute to shared goals, innovation and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities.
  • Complete other projects & tasks as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management role in a complex environment and leading project teams without direct people management responsibility.
  • At least 4 years of leading the budgeting and ROI process for supporting project prioritizations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience implementing enterprise projects across an organization (ERP, CRM, IT, etc)
  • 2 years of experience working with external consultants on project teams.
  • PMI PMP certified
  • Agile experience
  • SCRUM experience.
  • 2 years facilitating discussion and project progress to all stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • 7 years Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Previous experience and/or understanding of a production environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.
  • JIRA

  • Resourceful and flexible in finding ways around constraints.
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams, the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.Able to multitask in a fast-paced, time sensitive production environment.

  • Ability to travel to locations in the greater metro area on an infrequent basis.
