POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Housekeeping position at YMCA of Northwest Louisiana maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all youth, and provides a quality experience to both youth and their families.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Cleans, sanitizes and maintains assigned facilities and equipment
Inspects assigned facilities and equipment daily; makes minor repairs and reports problems
Performs laundry service
Reports building problems
Order and report supply stock problems
Set up and take down for events as necessary
Enforces all Association and Branch policies
Completes all other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School diploma and/or one year of similar work experience preferred.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required or course completion within 30 days of hire.
Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
Ability to stay alert for potential safety and security problems.
Commitment to maintaining harmonious relationships with fellow staff, lay leaders, members, participants and the general public.

The housekeeper must be able to use equipment and/or chemicals in the prescribed manner. They must also be capable of reading SDS information sheets and instructions. Some tasks may require lifting and/or carrying 50lbs of equipment at any given time.
