SUPERVISOR: Manager of Flight 800 International Memorial

The Assistant Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the Flight 800 Memorial located at Smith Point County Park

RESPONSIBILITIES:

E- Connotes Essential Functions

E-1 Assists with grounds maintenance at locations which includes, but is not limited to the following:

Spring/Summer

E-2 De-winterizes the memorial and prepares the sites for Spring-time operations. Completes Spring/Summer Site Preparation Checklist.

E-3 Completes all daily and weekly checklists.

E-4 Ensures all litter is removed and walkways are clean at location attending to.

E-5 Maintains a thorough knowledge of all plant material used.

E-6 Ensures all equipment is properly secure and put away at the end of each day.

E-7 Ensures that all locations are properly weeded at all times.

Fall/Winter

E-8 Continues to complete all springtime functions.

E-9 Completes weeding and prepares to install burlap to designated areas.

E-10 Prunes and cuts back all perennials.

11- All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

A. High School Diploma/GED

B. Valid NYS driver’s license

C. Experience in planting, pruning and tree & shrub removal

D. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Knowledge of horticulture is a must.

Knowledge of electrical is a must

Employment is 5 days a week with 2 of the days being Saturday and Sunday
