SMI Safety is seeking an industrial construction safety coordinator for the Columbus, Nebraska area.

JOB SUMMARY

This position requires 5 years proven experience as an industrial construction safety coordinator. As a safety coordinator, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with OSHA guidelines, as well as compliance of customer safety policies and procedures.

COMPENSATION

• 40 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform field Behavior Based Safety (BBS) observations on contractor personnel.

• Provide a strong field presence and safety resource for contractor personnel.

• Conduct project safety inspections/audits and provide feedback to project management. Take corrective actions and/or offer solutions for noted deficiencies.

• Provide training and coaching for contractor personnel as situations warrant and directed by project management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• MUST have high school diploma or equivalent

• MUST be authorized to work in the U.S.

• MUST have a minimum of five (5) years proven industrial construction safety experience

• MUST have OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course

• MUST pass a background check

• MUST pass drug screen

• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Outstanding organizational skills

• Competent in MS Office
