Clerical position that supports the daily activities of the medical offices including greeting patients in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance eligibility and patient referrals. This position answers telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, appropriately addresses the call by responding to the inquiry or transferring the caller to the appropriate personnel or initiates a triage task for response by medical personnel. Coordinates reminder calls to all patients scheduled the following business day as needed. Schedules patient studies recommended by provider(s). Greets and directs patients and visitors. Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and physician offices. Collects payments from patients and reconciles daily cash reports.
