About the position

We are searching for a dedicated Infant Teacher, passionate to foster child development through the application of conscious discipline. Our ideal candidate thrives in an environment enriched by loose-part play and outdoor inspiration, and we invite them to join our team of dedicated educators. The Infant Teacher will play a pivotal role in facilitating a stimulating and supportive environment, where children can develop essential skills, explore their interests, and build a strong foundation for future learning. Your involvement with the facility team will extend to ensuring a high standard of compliance with all licensing and accreditation mandates, consistently upholding a stellar 4-star TRS (Texas Rising Star) standard.

What you’ll do

  • Care and Supervision: Provide attentive and loving care to infants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times. Establish and maintain a consistent daily routine, including feeding, diapering, napping, and playtime.
  • Curriculum and Activities: Create and implement developmentally appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration, fine and gross motor skill development, and cognitive growth. Foster language development through conversation, storytime, and music. Plan and organize age-appropriate sensory experiences to stimulate learning.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain open and positive communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns. Collaborate with parents to understand and implement individualized care plans for each child.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitization, hygiene practices, and safe sleep practices for infants. Monitor the health of each infant, promptly addressing any signs of discomfort, illness, or developmental concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of each infant's daily activities, progress, and milestones. Assist in completing developmental assessments and reports as required.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for both infants and colleagues. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the Childcare industry required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards.
  • Solid understanding of 4 Star Texas Rising Star rating.
  • Solid understanding of Conscious discipline, loose-part play, and outdoor learning.
  • Solid understanding of Jean Piaget, Bev Bos, Becky Bailey and Reggio Emilia’s Loris Malaguzzi teachings.
  • In-depth knowledge of Infant development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
  • Solid understanding of Child Care center operations.
  • CPR and first-aid training.
  • Unquestionable reliability.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent flexibility and teamwork skills.
  • Friendly, approachable and joyful demeanor.
  • All applicants must undergo a background check.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Note: This is not a baby-sitting opportunity. Ideal candidates live within 10 miles of the childcare facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,200.00 - $38,000.00 per year
