Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated School Counselor to join our team and support the well-being and academic success of our students. As a School Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and counseling services to students, fostering a positive school environment, and collaborating with teachers and parents.
Duties:
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to address academic, social, and emotional needs
- Educate students on various topics including career planning, academic goal setting, and personal development
- Utilize knowledge of child welfare and child protective services to ensure student safety and well-being
- Collaborate with social workers and behavioral health professionals to support students' mental health needs
- Provide guidance on standardized testing requirements and assist students in test preparation
- Implement behavior management strategies to address student conduct issues
- Resolve conflicts among students using effective conflict management techniques
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders effectively
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Knowledge of child welfare, child protective services, and social work principles
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices to support student mental health
- Understanding of standardized testing procedures and requirements
