Job Overview:
Our super busy grooming salon is looking to hire a part time receptionist to work from 7 am to 1 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 8 am to 4:15 pm Saturdays.
The right candidate will be punctual, detail oriented, able to multitask in a fast paced environment, confident with handling small and large dogs, have basic computer and phone skills, and a very friendly approach to customer service. Our clients are like family and we expect them to be treated that way.
This is not a sit down receptionist position. You will be checking in and out dogs and taking them back and forth all day. If you're not physically able to lift and bend, or are at risk of falling when walking dogs that pull, this is not the job for you. If you have allergies or are afraid of dogs, this is not the job for you. Please be honest with yourself and with us. Prior animal handling experience preferred but not required.
Duties:
- Greet clients warmly and assist them with check-ins and check-outs
- Schedule appointments and manage the salon's booking system
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about salon services
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Process payments and handle cash transactions
- Multitask efficiently in a fast-paced salon setting
Requirements:
- Previous experience with animals is preferred
- Knowledge of basic math for cash handling and transactions
- Strong sales skills to promote salon products and services
- Ability to handle financial transactions and document appropriately
