Arnprior Aerospace Portland produces complex machine products and assemblies and is a world class machining center of excellence.

Reporting to the Director of Operations/Site Lead, the Operations Manager leads a cross-functional team at Arnprior Aerospace Portland. The incumbent supports internal and external customer requirements and is responsible for meeting or exceeding KPI's including safety, quality, delivery and cost. S/he coordinates the development of the people, processes and capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plant Production

• Maintains workflow by monitoring all steps of the machining process and variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries, ensuring all orders are produced in a timely manner.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards; ensuring all equipment and machinery inspections are completed as scheduled.
• Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
• Ensures all regular maintenance and equipment repairs are completed.

Inventory/Tool Shop/Maintenance

• Ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained, well organized, properly labelled, and accurate.
• Ensures communication between tool shop, maintenance, and production

Health and Safety

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by properly educating and training personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are adhered to
• Conducts employee training and information sessions (safety talks, staff meetings, tail gate meetings)
• Conducts incident investigations
• May participate as a Health and Safety committee member
• Ensures that work orders are assigned to the appropriate department

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP Software, Payroll Attendance Software)
• Strong organizational, communication and decision-making skills
• Flexible, innovative, and comfortable setting own priorities
• Thrives working in a very fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team

Education/Certification/Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar leadership role that involves planning, coaching, managing and improving processes in a manufacturing environment
• Forklift experience and certification (asset)
• Leadership Training (asset)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
