Busy Ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler to join our team. This is a full-time position (40 Hours) per week.
Job Duties Include:
· Schedule operating room time according to physician protocols
· Assure all materials are ordered for surgery
· Discuss preoperative and postoperative instructions with the surgical patients
· Communicate effectively with surgical patients working as the contact person for their questions and concerns
· Enter accurate information into the surgery scheduling system
· Prepare all paperwork for surgeon and send to surgical facility
· Obtain precertification / preauthorization from insurance companies
· Verify and communicate patient’s financial responsibility and collect payment
· Facilitate a smooth surgical process for the patient and surgeon
